How v1 mapping works

The first version uses 30 researched urban archetypes across NYC, LA, Seoul, Paris, London, and Tokyo, then draws OSM polygons or approximate bounding regions for the selected new city.

Monthly refresh

Vercel Cron calls /api/cron/refresh-mappings monthly. If OPENAI_API_KEY is configured, the service asks a model for a cited refresh artifact, validates its shape, and returns it for human promotion rather than silently rewriting the live map.
